P A Y A T T E N T I O N : the only album, that i know of, that continues to grow and produce new sounds, new waves, new vibes, right here on bandcamp. y'all want the future of music, don't you? this is it.
Favorite track: through my most grievous fault.
the concept for this album has been more than 20 years in the making.
the idea for a sort of living album first illuminated me when i lived with my friend, and old drummer in the mitted fist, taking form then in endless hours of basement guitar drones as we endured brutal winters, alcoholic neighbors and wild dogs chasing our cars as they ran barking after us.
a light inside the womb is intended to reflect the scientific fact that when each, and every single human individual is conceived, there is a literal flash of light sparked into this dark, and darkening world, where just moments prior there had not been.
light defines us as beings. light is energy, and without form, and if you can hear it, the most beautiful sound.
we need more light(s) in this darkened world.
on this, we can all agree, yes?
life is a battle to hold on to that light, for this world will, and does, do its very best to extinguish it within us. it will use the sweet half-truth of a lie. it will use violence. it will use confusion. it will use pride, and hypocrisy - it will use comfort, and apathy, any and everything to kill your light. the worst, is when this world convinces you to do it yourself - to hide your light, to kill it, or to deny it ever existed at all, irrationally dismissed as so much aplomb, or gaucheness, even.
like conception itself, alitw will be a living thing. an ongoing, interactive project, and installation. over the course of 2024, this album will grow, fail, and will include remixes, new material, and collaborations.
but for the joy of that eventual day, we endure.
